Organizing and running a swim season takes a lot of work, especially in an all-volunteer run club. AHA asks that all registered families commit to volunteering in some way, shape, or form, throughout the swim season. This can look like being the MRP (Most Responsible Parent) on deck during practices, volunteering at the AHA swim meet, taking on additional timing/officiating shifts at swim meets, volunteering at Mini Meets, picking up recycling (ongoing bottle drive) and volunteering at club events.
There will be volunteer opportunities posted throughout the season, please sign up. It’s a great way to get to know other parents and many hands make for light work for everyone.
Little Aquanauts: 5 hours
Aquanauts: 10 hours
Senior Aquanauts: 20 hours
Families with multiple swimmers are required to fulfill the volunteer commitment of their highest-level swimmer.
For example, if you have a Little Aquanaut and an Advanced swimmer, you only need to fulfill the commitment of the 20 hours of the Advanced group.
All members are required to provide a $300 post-dated cheque or completed Credit Card Authorization Form at the beginning of the seson.
The cheque/credit card form will be returned to you at the AGM if your family volunteer requirement has been fulfilled.
Deposit needs to be submitted to a member of the AHA Board before swimmers can enter the Ferny Coombe Pool for their first practice. Board members are onsite during the first week.
